Support SOFA to help preserve the Gulfs marine resources and a way of life because

Together,

We persevere.

Thank you for all your support in bringing together
S.O.EA. and the Shareholders’ Alliance.

Our primary purpose is to raise money for litigation to protect commercial fishing quotas. In the process of doing this, you are also entrusted with the responsibility of outreach and education: to make sure that everyone who is impacted by this “reallocation-by-recalibration” understands what happened and how the seafood industry in the Gulf of Mexico (and throughout the country) is coming together to fight it. Whether it is an owner, captain, or deckhand; from the dock workers to the fish houses and processors; restaurants, wholesale and retail markets, even the consumers themselves — everyone should be aware of this battle to reduce public and consumer access and have the opportunity to support it.

To that end, the primary roles and responsibilities of this is to:

  • Raise money.
  • Maximize industry and other participation in fundraising.
  • Foster positive communication to the seafood industry and its allies.
  • Demonstrate leadership and integrity and promote collaboration and unity with the seafood industry.

We are requesting the following entities to support this battle:

  • Fish Dealers: Small $2,500.00,
  • Restaurants: Small $500.00,
  • Longline Permit Holders: $1,000.00
  • Vertical Line Fishermen: $500.00
  • Shareholders: Red Grouper Large $5,000.00 Allocation $.10/LB
  • Seafood Consumer: $25.00
  • Captains- $100.00
  • Deckhands- $50.00

All payments may be tax deductible, check with your accountant. In order to show complete transparency, all contributors will be shown on a public website, as will all payments to legal team. We very much need everyone to contribute to this fund. This legal battle is our only hope to prevent the further deterioration of the commercial fishery in the Gulf of Mexico, particularly Red Grouper and we know what will be next - other snappers, groupers, amberjack, triggerfish etc.
Thank you for your participation and contributions to this important seafood defense fund.
