The Southern Offshore Fishing Association (S.O.F.A.) depends on dedicated supporters to help protect the Gulf of America’s fishing industry, communities, and marine resources. By joining our efforts, you become part of a mission focused on advocacy, conservation, and collaboration.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Raise Critical Funds – Help finance legal efforts, educational outreach, and advocacy campaigns to protect the rights of American fishermen.
- Grow Participation – Encourage involvement from the seafood industry, allied businesses, and individuals who care about sustainable fishing and coastal communities.
- Foster Positive Communication – Build stronger connections between fishermen, policymakers, businesses, and the public to ensure accurate representation of our industry.
- Promote Leadership & Integrity – Support efforts that unite the seafood industry around common goals of sustainability, growth, and fairness.
We are requesting the following entities to support this battle:
- Fish Dealers: Small $250.00
- Restaurants: Small $500.00
- Longline Permit Holders: $1,000.00
- Vertical Line Fishermen: $500.00
- Shareholders: Red Grouper Large $5,000.00 Allocation $.10/LB
- Captains- $100.00
- Seafood Consumer: $25.00
- Deckhands- $50.00
Your donation may or may not be considered a “charitable tax deduction” but may qualify for a “business expense”.

All payments may be tax deductible, check with your accountant. In order to show complete transparency, all contributors will be shown on a public website, as will all payments to legal team. We very much need everyone to contribute to this fund. This legal battle is our only hope to prevent the further deterioration of the commercial fishery in the Gulf of Mexico, particularly Red Grouper and we know what will be next – other snappers, groupers, amberjack, triggerfish etc.
