Board of Directors
Every ship needs a good captain.
These are the men and women plotting our course to a vibrant fishing future.
Every successful organization needs strong leadership—and every ship needs a skilled captain. At the Southern Offshore Fishing Association (S.O.F.A.), our Board of Directors is made up of dedicated men and women who bring experience, passion, and vision to guide our mission. They are the ones charting the course toward a thriving fishing industry, sustainable marine resources, and a brighter future for the Gulf of America.
Together, they ensure that S.O.F.A. remains a powerful voice for fishermen, coastal communities, and marine conservation.
Fell in love with being on the water while in the Navy. I knew I wanted a career on the water, had an old timer tell me stories about fishing, made one trip, and was hooked!!
Love the challenge fishing presents. Everything else can be going wrong, but when the fish start biting, none of that matters. I love the disconnect from society that it gives me, it gives me a sense of tranquility.
My family moved to Pinellas county in 1972. I have always loved the water, and grew up on our amazing beaches. I met Randy Lauser in 1984, we became great friends and in 1994 we got married. We have 2 beautiful Daughters and a Granddaughter that we adore. Being married to a fisherman has had its challenges, but we have made a good life and are on to our next chapter. Since my husband retired earlier this year, he has stepped in to the role of President for S.O.F.A. We have big plans for its future!
